A guide by Viper12
Welcome to HVPB !! At the time I am making this website, I have logged nearly 1400 hours on High Velocity Paintball. Its a great game full of great players. This guide will teach you everything you need to know about Basic Commands, Equipment setup, and how to Change Servers.
Welcome to the holding area. This is where the stores and locker are located. You will automatically be placed in the holding area between games, or when you get splatted during a game. (You must be a paying player to use the locker)
Before we begin setting up your equipment you will need to know several basic commands. HVPB is a command driven game.
The red arrow shows the "command input" line. This is where you type commands or chat with other players. To chat simply type a message and hit enter. To enter a command type a / then the command. Do not put a space in front of the /.
This command shows you what equipment you are wearing
This command shows you how many splats you need to level up. (IE /stat Viper12)
This command can be used to look in any of your equipment. (IE /look gun; /look jacket) Its great to see how much ammo is left in your gun
This is an incredibly important command. You will be modifying almost every piece of your equipment you have. The Mod Store sells many different modifications. Some let you shoot faster, others let you shoot farther. Some mods let you carry more ammunition, while others make it harder for players to see you. The full command is /mod item mod. Think of the command as saying "modify this item with this modification." Here are some examples of how to mod items. Lets say you want to put a "plains camo mod" on your jacket. After purchasing the plains camo mod, you would type /mod jacket mod. Most items can take two mods. When you get to rank 2 you should put some armor on your jacket. TIP: When you do this, it removes the jacket from your body to accomplish the mod. Make sure you type /wear jacket afterwards so that it Re-Wears the jacket. So in review the three commands to complete the mod would be /buy plains & /mod jac mod & /wear jac.

Now that you know some basic commands we can get your equipment setup. Fist type /stat you should see:
Carrying 36 lbs. out of 100 lbs.
a helmet[scope] on your head, eyes
a beginner jacket on your body
a beginner paintball gun on your right hand
a pair of boots on your feet
This setup can be improved. First go to the mod store. Upon entering your should get a "buy menu" on the left of your screen.
If this menu does not pop up, click options, and make sure auto-store is
checked.
Your beginner jacket comes with forest and jungle camo. We need to put some plains camo on it also. So, either type /buy plains. Or click the + next to 'assorted' on the buy menu, and select "a plains camo mod" Once the mod is selected you can click the "buy" button.
Once you have purchased the mod you need to mod it to your jacket. Type /mod jac mod. Then /wear jac.
Next I would recommend a better gun. Head to the weapon store. First sell your current gun using /sell gun. Then buy "a paintball gun". You can use the buy menu, or type /buy 'a paintball gun'
Finally Lets head to the ammo store. This is a very important step. "A paintball gun" will only shoot ammo from "a tube of paintballs". Use this method to reload your gun EVERY time, or else your gun could jam.

At the right is the ammo store "buy menu". To reload your gun select "a tube of paintballs" and then click your "reload gun" button. As shown by the red arrows.

You have successfully setup your characters
equipment. Your next step is to decide where you want to play. HVPB
has 3 servers that you can play on. To change servers click on the
"Disconnect" button at the top right of your screen. Then hit
connect.
After
you hit connect, the screen shown in this pic will appear. Click the drop
down menu and select the server you wish to play on.
The three servers are:
Area 51 is where most players play. There are no tournaments held on Area 51, only regular games.
The Afterlife is the "tourn server". If a tournament is going to be ran, it will be ran on The Afterlife. However, if there isn't a tournament in progress, The Afterlife functions exactly the same as Area 51.
Training Grounds is an excellent place for new players to start. Only players who are rank 1 and rank 2 can play there. This means that you will not be playing against players who have mastered their classes and have access to the best equipment. TIP: Because you can only level up be getting player splats (bot splats don't count towards level ups) do not play on TG is there aren't other players there. Your goal in this game is to splat as many people as possible.
